Atkins Group use their skills to help their community

When working on large infrastructure or construction projects locally, many firms look for opportunities for their skilled workers and contractors to volunteer their time and support local projects. It was our pleasure to help Atkins Group to identify four projects at local schools and charities where their skills and materials made a real and lasting impact. Over the October half term, the team gave three gazebos new leases of life, painted and repaired a bird hide and some benches, and turned an old computer room into a new classroom, removing electronics and old panelling and repainting the entire room.

As Atkins explained “This was a true collaborative effort, with equipment being provided free of charge from our supply chain partners, including Sunbelt Rentals. A huge thank you to Haseeb Abbasi and the construction team for organising the volunteering opportunities and encouraging everyone to get involved.”

Manorcroft Primary School in Egham, one of the schools they helped, summed up the impact of the work, saying “We can’t thank you enough for all the work that has been carried out in the school. We’ve been waiting for something like this to happen for years! The project was something that the school absolutely wouldn’t have been able to do without money or time.”

At VSNS, we are always happy to help companies like Atkins find project opportunities and we love to see the results and the impact of their efforts.
