Many high street shops and big brands want to support their local communities. While the grants they offer are often fairly small, they are also often easier to apply for and can be quite flexible. Here’s our list of some of the most common retailers in our areas that you may want to try:
- Asda Foundation – has a number of local giving schemes
- Coop Local Community Fund – applications will open this Spring
- Home Instead – funding for activities for the over 55s
- John Lewis Community Matters – apply to be a chosen charity
- KFC Foundation – next funding round is in the autumn. For projects benefiting young people aged 11-25 years.
- Morrisons Foundation – up to £25k available
- Nationwide – Community grant applications opening this Spring
- Nisa’s Make A Difference Locally – donations through your local store
- One Stop Community Partnership – an initial grant of up to £1,000 + an ongoing partnership with your local store.
- Screwfix Foundation – for local organisations helping people in need looking for funding for repairs, maintenance, improvements or construction of homes, community buildings and other buildings.
- Tesco Community Grants (formerly Tesco Bags for Life)
- Wickes Community Programme – open to all local community groups and charities seeking help for improvement projects
- Wilko Helping Hands – local groups and community projects can get Wilko gift cards, products or volunteers to help with your project
