Do you feel passionate about supporting men with their mental health?

ANDYSMANCLUB takes its name from Andrew Roberts, a man who sadly took his own life aged 23 in early 2016. Elaine Roberts and Luke Ambler are Andy’s Mum and Brother-in-Law, together they came up with the idea of ANDYSMANCLUB, a group where men aged 18 and above can speak openly about their mental health in a judgement-free, non-clinical environment. Groups now operate nationwide and are completely volunteer-led, with the vast majority of group facilitators having first interacted with ANDYSMANCLUB when they came through the door as a service user.

In Woking we opened the First Andy's Man Club in July 2022 and we continue to grow in numbers weekly. We want to open more groups across Surrey and are looking for men interested in learning how to facilitate these groups. The current Woking group runs on a Monday evening from 7pm to 9pm.

What skills do I need?

We look for men who have experienced life and have empathy for others and an understanding of mental health. Commitment is running the club on a Monday evening with support. Training is done online initially and volunteers would also attend the Woking group to see how the club runs. Each club is well supported by the head office and there is a debrief at the end of each session to ensure all are ok.
