Manna is a local charity in the Borough of Spelthorne, supporting local families and individuals who are referred by agencies, both statutory and voluntary, and perceived as being in emergency need of food and household essentials.

We deliver parcels of food and household necessities to our clients and one delivery time is Wednesday evening.  We need people who can potentially help pack parcels and then go out to deliver them.  A car is desirable but not required, as we work in pairs and you can be paired with someone with a car.

What skills do I need?

Volunteers should be able to :

  • Pack parcels of food from the standard list
  • Deliver parcels to clients working in pairs
  • Lift bags of food
  • Work comfortably as part of a team with other volunteers
  • Manage confidential information and use discretion
  • Be DBS checked. Manna can arrange this is if you don’t already have one
  • Communicate well both on the telephone and face-to-face
  • Have a willingness to join an organisation that makes a real difference to people's lives.
