It’s World Book Day!

World Book Day has the potential to change lives through a love of books and reading. It was created by UNESCO on 23rd April 1995 as a worldwide celebration of books and reading and is marked in over 100 countries across the globe.

Books have the incredible power to transport us to different worlds, broaden our perspectives, and deepen our understanding of ourselves and the world around us and one way to truly embrace the spirit of World Book Day is to consider volunteering, whether that’s helping children learn how to read, running a book club or volunteering in your local library.

We have a number of reading/book related opportunities for you to consider.

Take a look below:

Online Reading Volunteer (Doorstep Library)

Book Club Volunteer (SeeAbility)

Community Library Volunteer (@OLDDEANREC)

Community Reading Coach (Shannon Trust)

Reading Helpers (Coram Beanstalk)

Reading Mentor (ABC to Read)

If you’re interested in any of the above opportunities, you can apply through our website or by giving us a call on 01932 571122.

We’d be happy to discuss all your options and help you on your volunteering journey.
