Marketing / Social Media / PR / Events Volunteer

Talking Tree exists to raise community awareness and action to combat the negative effects of climate change. We believe that millions of little actions by ordinary people, can make a big positive difference for our local area and our planet. 

Our vision is to make Spelthorne carbon neutral and the most nature-rich, sustainable, healthy and happy community in the UK. 

We run a programme of events, education and skill-sharing as well as various projects, all from our community space in Staines-Upon-Thames. We host art exhibitions and events in our cafe and workshop space - from talks related to climate change to live music, film nights to craft workshops.

An important part of our work is raising awareness, we are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer with an interest in marketing and PR to help us spread the word. This exciting role will include helping with the planning and running of events, and to help publicise the work we do.

Job description/main tasks:

• to build up a social media presence for Talking Tree
• contribute to communications and website content
• write case studies that show off the work we do at Talking Tree
• weekly updating social media channels
• to attend some of our events and workshops with a view to reporting on them

What skills do I need?

Volunteers should be enthusiastic about communicating the negative impacts of climate change and ways in which we can all make a difference. 

An interest and/or experience in Marketing, PR and/or Social Media is an advantage but not essential.
